2 Channel standard RS 485 PROFIBUS repeater module for 12 Mbps with diagnostic LEDs and redundancy feature. 1 Channel SALT Repeater

The diagnostic alternative cable repeater (SALT) enables PROFIBUS communication over non-standard cable. Rotary switches allow setting the impedance. The user can verify the bus signals with the built in oscilloscope which is identical to the ComBricks SCOPE repeater module and accessible through the web server. PROFIBUS networks that have not been wired with proper cable or where it is mandatory to use existing twisted pair cable are not uncommon. This product is an excellent tool to modulate PROFIBUS signals on non-standard infrastructures.

Head Station Type 1A

Headstation type 1A has NO monitoring capabilities. The Headstation is the primary element of ComBricks and schedules the interaction between all modules and provides data storage and an Ethernet interface for the user.

2 Channel Fiber Optic Module

2 Channel PROFIBUS fiber optic module for 3 km multimode cable. This module enables long cable distances and a galvanic isolation between devices and segments. Suitable for: point-to-point, bus, star and hub topologies.The fiber optic modules can be placed side by side with repeaters modules. Just like any other communication module, the channels are directly connected with the ProfiTrace OE core in the Head Station.

PROFIBUS PA Coupler Module

The transparent PROFIBUS PA link/coupler enables seamless high speed integration to PROFIBUS PA. It powers the attached PA devices and fully emulates them as DP devices on the backplane. Adjusted busparameters are not required and therefore suitable for all DCS and PLC systems, even running on 12 Mbps.

The combined internal ProfiTrace and oscilloscope make this product extremely useful for remote maintenance over Ethernet. Jitter, noise, DC current, DC voltage, bar graph and oscilloscope, it is all there and easy to access. The free CommDTM allows access for asset management tools over Ethernet.

ComBricks is able to carry 9 PA links and a RS 485 or Fiber Optic module. It can also be a customized mix of PA modules with other communication modules. The PA link provides 500 mA current on a customizable bus voltage. The integrated PA termination is automatically activated when the module works as a power coupler. It is switched off in the monitoring mode.

 
It does not require configuration and operates the same way as regular ComBricks repeaters. In the web server the behavior on the PA side can be set, like retries (default 5) and the watchdog (default 3 seconds). This product can directly replace 3rd party Non-Ex PA couplers/links and can be used as a monitor behind existing 3rd party Non-Ex PA couplers.

PROFIBUS Slave Module

The ComBricks PROFIBUS DP slave module has considerable added value for the installation. It is the only available device with a powerful 3-in-1 functionality: PROFIBUS DP slave device - ProfiTrace busmonitor - Modular repeater.

 
The slave device enables the largest multiple cross gateways between PROFINET and PROFIBUS modules which are placed in the backplane. Simultaneously it permanently monitors the segment/network and acts as a repeater when it is used in combination with other communication modules.

PROFINET Device module

The ComBricks PROFINET Device enables the largest multiple cross gateway between other PROFINET and PROFIBUS modules which are placed in the backplane. Simultaneously, the PLC/DCS system that has the PROFINET Device in Data Exchange can access inserted I/O modules.

It's the component of choice to establish communication between multiple PROFINET and PROFIBUS controllers that manage their own specific network. The gateway works the same way as regular DP/DP and PN/DP couplers. The data area between the modules is customized with the help of some pre-defined blocks from the GSD files. ComBricks has the advantage that 10 PROFINET / PROFIBUS modules can exchange information.

 

The configuration steps are the same as any other PROFINET device. By means of the GSD file the respective I/O modules have to be selected in the configuration tool, after which the PLC can make the I/Os available for the software application and the network.
